OK I am ready for this baby to be out! I am now 8 and half months pregnant and long past the point where it’s cute. According to my “What To Expect When You’re Expecting” app (oh yeah….they have an app for that), this baby is now the size of a 6 and a half pound watermelon! I don’t know if you’ve ever felt the urge to walk around with a watermelon fastened to your waistline but let me assure you, it’s not pretty. There was a point where I had a cute little bump but long gone are those days.
And it’s official….I have developed a waddle. I now walk around the halls of work like a fat duck on it’s way to the watering hole. And I’m not going to lie to you, I think I’ve even quacked on more than one occasion. I’m pretty sure someone in Kroger threw bread crumbs at me on my way out.
But the worst part about carrying my little watermelon is the back pain! Do all women experience this? I never hear about it. I mean, I hear that their backs are sore, much in the same way one’s back would be if they spent an afternoon in upstate New York shoveling snow. But I mean this hurts! I don’t know how much more my delicate little frame can take.
I can’t believe I still have another month to go. Kid, I love you already and am so excited about your arrival. But I am more than ready to hold you in my arms, instead of toting you in my belly! So hurry up and get here please! Love, Mom.
